On May 31, we set off on a journey to a new, colourful world full of joy, fun, and laughter. Our journey that day – as on any other day in Randwick – began with a morning assembly, where all the students gathered with smiles on their faces and excitement in their eyes, wondering what awaited them. From the moment they entered the hall, the children’s eyes lit up at the sight of colourful and exciting stations. They immediately ran off to take part in various attractions. The youngest children (from preschool to Year 2) participated in art activities, drawing and painting Reksio the dog. They had plenty of time to get creative, supported by an art group.
At the same time, the older children joined in different games and activities. The stations included: paper cut-outs, cabbage-head rolling, gingerbread decorating, fishing for bottle caps and fish, ball tossing into cups, and building cup pyramids with a ball on top. At each station, enthusiastic and cheerful teachers were waiting for the children, ensuring continuous fun and smiles all around.
During our adventure break, the Consul Mr Piotr Rakowski offered his best wishes to all the children and handed out Polish lollies. From Krispy Kreme doughnuts to Polish fudge krówki, all the kids were full of energy and ready to continue their adventure for the rest of the day. Everyone was excited that the second part of the activities was about to begin. The younger children had already finished their Reksio drawings, so now it was time for the older classes. Thanks to the station rotations, everyone had the chance to enjoy themselves, and the end of the adventure was a little bittersweet – sad that it was over, but happy that it had been so much fun. Smiles didn’t leave anyone’s face all day long, and everyone definitely had a wonderful time at the Polish School in Sydney.
