We began the new term by celebrating two important national occasions – National Polish Flag Day and Constitution Day of 3 May. During a formal assembly, students honoured these significant dates in Poland’s history, reflecting on the values of freedom, the importance of national symbols, and Polish identity. Everyone created beautiful white-and-red rosettes and, together, assembled a special flag made of hearts signed by each child as a symbol of love for Poland. The flag was later presented to the Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Sydney, Mr Piotr Rakowski. The celebration was enriched by a performance from the Song and Dance Ensemble “Lajkonik”, which filled the day with energy, tradition, and pride in our Polish heritage. The assembly concluded with the singing of the Polish national anthem, and each participant received a white-and-red cupcake. Although we are far from our homeland, all our hearts beat in white and red.
